About

Digital Learning Specialist at Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF) | Designing scalable learning systems, AI training, and global learning solutions.

I am a Digital Learning Specialist at Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF), working on scalable learning systems for global teams.

I design practical learning solutions, develop AI training for HR and L&D, and specialize in making complex topics usable in real-world contexts.

My work focuses on clarity, scalability, and the responsible use of technology in learning.

Current Role

I currently work as a Digital Learning Specialist with Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF) in Brussels and contribute to the International Technology-Enhanced Learning (TEL) team.

In this role, I design and implement learning systems that support global teams operating in complex and resource-constrained environments.

My work includes:

  • Designing standardized learning templates in Articulate Storyline and Rise to address gaps in instructional design capacity across teams
  • Creating scalable course structures that enable non-specialists to develop high-quality learning content
  • Leading initiatives in localization and translation-ready design to support multilingual delivery at scale
  • Delivering training on accessibility, assistive technologies, and inclusive learning design
  • Designing and implementing UX/UI solutions, including a course tracking system to improve learner experience and visibility
  • Conducting research and applying best practices to optimize how learning content is adapted across different cultural and operational contexts

AI & Learning Innovation

Alongside my core role, I design and deliver training on the practical use of AI in learning and development.

This includes:

  • Training HR and L&D teams to use generative AI tools effectively and responsibly
  • Developing applied frameworks for AI use, including over 50 real-world use cases for learning and development
  • Designing structured approaches to prompt writing, critical evaluation, and responsible AI use in professional contexts

This work focuses not just on using AI tools, but on helping professionals develop the judgment and clarity needed to use them well.

Approach

My approach is grounded in a simple principle:

Learning should be practical, scalable, and usable in real-world conditions.

I focus on:

  • Clarity over complexity
  • Systems over one-off solutions
  • Practical application over theory

Whether designing templates, training teams, or developing learning frameworks, the goal is always the same — to create solutions that people can apply directly in their day-to-day work.

Road Ahead with EdtecPro

Background

I began my career in education as a teacher, working across subjects including English, German, Geography, and Mathematics in Ireland, Germany, and Spain. This foundation gave me a strong understanding of how people learn in diverse contexts.

I later completed an MSc in Education Technology at Trinity College Dublin and moved into roles focused on digital learning design and innovation. I worked as an Education Technology Researcher and Instructional Designer with a digital learning startup supported by NDRC, contributing to the development of technology-enhanced learning solutions.

In Spain, I went on to lead an IT Education department and teach advanced-level courses, including A Level Information Technology and International Baccalaureate Computer Science.

Across these roles, I have worked at every stage of the digital learning lifecycle – from analysis and design to development and implementation.

Alongside my professional work, I have continued to explore areas such as education data analytics and the integration of emerging technologies into learning.

I speak English, Spanish, and German.
