This Privacy Policy explains how EdtecPro collects, uses, and protects personal data when you visit edtecpro.com, contact us by email, or interact with our content and services. EdtecPro is a professional eLearning brand offering a self-paced AI fluency course and related instructional design services. We are based in Ireland and process personal data in accordance with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), the Irish Data Protection Act 2018, and applicable EU data protection law. The Irish Data Protection Commission (DPC) is the supervisory authority in Ireland. Our approach to privacy reflects our values: Strong foundations. Real impact. Your pace.

The data controller responsible for this website is:

Edward Kelly Trading as EdtecPro

If you have any questions about this Privacy Policy or how your personal data is handled, please contact us at the address above.

2 What We Collect

Email enquiries

Visitors may contact us using a mailto: link on the website, which opens your own email client. We do not use a contact form. If you email us, we may receive and process information you choose to include, such as your name, email address, organisation name, job role, and the contents of your message. Email correspondence is managed through Gmail / Google Workspace.

Website analytics

Google Analytics is not currently active on this website but will be added in the near future. Once enabled, it may collect data including your IP address (truncated or anonymised where supported and configured), browser type, device information, pages visited, time on page, geographic region, and referral source. Analytics cookies will only be activated after you provide consent.

YouTube links

This site includes links to YouTube videos that open in a new browser tab. If you choose to visit YouTube or interact with YouTube content, Google and YouTube may collect data — including your IP address, device information, browser details, and activity on their services — in accordance with their own privacy policies. This data collection may begin when you click the link to YouTube. We do not control how Google or YouTube process personal data once you leave our website.

Course delivery via SCORMcloud

Our AI fluency course is hosted on SCORMcloud, a third-party learning management platform. If you access the course, SCORMcloud may collect data related to your course activity, including progress, assessment results, and completion status. This data is processed by Rustici Software (the operator of SCORMcloud) in accordance with their privacy policy. We use this data solely to track course completion and issue certifications where applicable. EdtecPro remains responsible for determining the purpose of this processing in relation to course participation and certification.

Children and minors

This website and its services are intended for professional and adult audiences. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under the age of 16. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us at hello@edtecpro.com and we will take steps to delete it.

3 Lawful Basis for Processing

Under GDPR, we must have a lawful basis for each processing activity.

Email enquiries

We process personal data received by email on the basis of our legitimate interests in responding to enquiries, managing professional communications, and handling requests about our services. We ensure these interests are balanced against your rights and freedoms. Where an enquiry relates directly to purchasing services or entering into a business relationship, processing may also be necessary in order to take steps prior to entering into a contract (GDPR Article 6(1)(b)).

Lawful basis: Legitimate interests

Google Analytics

We rely on consent for Google Analytics and any related analytics cookies. Analytics will not be activated until consent is given. You may withdraw consent at any time through your browser settings or our cookie preferences.

Lawful basis: Consent

Course activity (SCORMcloud)

Course activity data is processed on the basis of contract — it is necessary to track your progress and issue a certificate where you have enrolled in and purchased access to the course.

Lawful basis: Contract

YouTube links

Where you choose to interact with YouTube content by clicking a link on our site, Google may process personal data according to its own privacy terms and legal bases. We do not control Google's processing on its own services.

4 How We Use Personal Data

We use personal data only for the purposes for which it was collected:

  • To respond to email enquiries and manage professional communications
  • To operate, maintain, and improve the website
  • To understand how visitors use the website once analytics is enabled
  • To track course progress and issue certifications via SCORMcloud
  • To support the delivery of our services and course-related communications

We do not sell personal data to third parties, use personal data for automated decision-making or profiling, or send unsolicited marketing emails.

5 Third-Party Processors

We use trusted third-party providers to support the operation of the website, course delivery, and business communications. Where these providers process data outside the EU/EEA, we rely on GDPR-recognised safeguards such as Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs) or adequacy decisions.

6 Cookies

EdtecPro's website does not currently set any cookies of its own. When Google Analytics is added, analytics cookies will be introduced and will require your consent before activation. Analytics cookies will not be placed on your device unless you actively accept them through the website's cookie consent banner. A separate cookie notice will be published when this occurs.

Third-party services such as YouTube or Google may set their own cookies if you interact with their services by following links from our site.

You may manage or clear cookies at any time through your browser settings.

7 International Visitors

EdtecPro's website is accessible globally, including to visitors in Latin America and Arabic-speaking countries in the Middle East and North Africa. We apply GDPR as our baseline standard. Some third-party service providers we use — including Google, YouTube, and SCORMcloud — may process data outside the EU/EEA under their own terms. Where transfers outside the EU/EEA occur, we expect appropriate safeguards to be in place, such as Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs) or adequacy decisions under GDPR Chapter 5.

Visitors from Brazil may note that our practices are consistent with the Lei Geral de Proteção de Dados (LGPD). Visitors from Argentina and Colombia may note alignment with Ley 25.326 and Ley 1581 respectively. Wherever you are located, we aim to apply the same standard of care to your personal data as is required under EU law.

8 Data Retention

We retain personal data only for as long as necessary for the purposes for which it was collected.

Email correspondence

General enquiries are retained for as long as needed to deal with the enquiry and maintain reasonable business records. Where an enquiry leads to a business relationship, relevant correspondence may be retained for up to 6 years in line with Irish statutory and tax requirements.

Course activity (SCORMcloud)

Course progress and completion data is retained for the period necessary to support certification, re-access, and any related administration. Data that is no longer needed will be securely deleted or anonymised.

Google Analytics data

Once enabled, analytics data retention will be configured according to Google Analytics settings. We will apply the shortest reasonable retention period consistent with our reporting needs.

9 Your Rights

Under GDPR, you have the following rights in relation to your personal data:

  • Access — request a copy of the personal data we hold about you
  • Rectification — ask us to correct inaccurate or incomplete data
  • Erasure — ask us to delete your data where there is no legitimate reason to retain it
  • Restriction — ask us to restrict how we process your data
  • Portability — request your data in a structured, machine-readable format
  • Objection — object to processing based on legitimate interests
  • Withdraw consent — where consent is the lawful basis, you may withdraw it at any time without affecting the lawfulness of prior processing

To exercise any of these rights, please contact us at hello@edtecpro.com. We will respond without undue delay and within one month of receiving your request. We may need to verify your identity before responding.

10 Security

We take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect personal data against unauthorised access, loss, misuse, alteration, or disclosure. Access to personal data is limited to what is necessary. The website uses HTTPS encryption to help protect information transmitted between your browser and the website.

No method of internet transmission or data storage is completely secure. Whilst we work to protect your personal data, we cannot guarantee absolute security and visitors should be aware of the inherent risks associated with transmitting information online.

12 Supervisory Authority

If you have concerns about how we handle your personal data, please contact us first at hello@edtecpro.com so we can try to resolve the issue directly.
